One of the things I enjoy about shooting the forest, is finding organization amongst the chaos. It’s like trying to piece a puzzle together. This particular grove of old growth redwoods was beautiful! Huge redwoods surrounded by perfect ferns! As I wondered through this magical forest, I was trying to figure out how to capture its beauty.

Occasionally I’d see my buddy Miles Morgan and his bright yellow jacket appear in the background, looking just as confused as I was😝 trying to photograph this forest.
I climbed up on a downed redwood tree, and at its base, stood roughly 10 feet high, to get a higher vantage point, which ended up working in my benefit. The elevated viewpoint helped show off the expansive view of the forest. The rainy conditions made those ferns nice and juicy, with its vibrant color. Not a bad way to spend a rainy day. I love what I do😍

What's up everyone! Hope all of you guys are doing well out there. Decided to switch it up today and go back to an aerial view of Iceland's interior/highlands. This area looked incredible from the air! I would love to go back and photograph this area again. So many possibilities there. The rugged landscape and peaks looked like something from a movie,

Connections with nature is a beautiful feeling to have. Those feelings are organic and innate. The landscape speaks, I listen, and I try to capture that visual language.

With my latest body of work, Bayou Zen, is an example of these thoughts. The bayou for me is a place of zen. The landscape is eerie, mysterious, yet strikingly beautiful. A place where one can get immerse themselves in nature and disconnect from their own reality. The calmness, the stillness, the various autumn colors, the whispering morning mist takes mind and body to another reality. I’ve never photographed another landscape quite like this.

I have made uncountable images from the area over the years. Each visit is different. Your eye matures, you evolve as a person, and your vision changes over time. And what’s great, is that evolution shows in the imagery. This is another chapter with my photography, and will continue to evolve with my imagery as time goes on. Hope you guys enjoy the new images. Peace and love to all.

What’s up everyone! Happy New Year to all of you guys out there! New year, new image, Let’s go! Let’s get the new year started right with some new imagery!

Something totally different and unique from the the bayou! One of the compositions that I find hard to find in nature, is the window frame composition. Your subject is framed by other objects creating a window effect. These compositions look so awesome when you can find them. With this particular scene, you have multiple windows framing a lone bald cypress tree in the background. By far one of my most unique images that I've made last year and over the years. I’ll go to say, one of the more unique images that I’ve seen come from the bayou. Instant classic for me!

The color this fall in Colorado was incredible! I’ve never seen so much color! Every and anything that had leaves 🍁 that could change color or had color did! It was complete sensory overload! Everywhere you looked…there was color! It was incredible! This was one of the first scenes I photographed on my trip to Colorado this past fall. I had been up pretty late in the evening trying to get to this location as the storm was starting to break. I guess the lack of sleep paid off!

I was somewhat nervous getting back into the field, because I hadn’t really shot much over the summer and was recently coming off of eye surgery as well. But like anything else, once you get back into the swing of things, everything starts to flow and you get your grove back. I think got my groove back😉
