Glocke, Kapetaniana, Kreta, 2023

Nahe dem Dorf Kapetaniana führt eine Schotterstraße hinauf zum Kofinas, dem höchsten Berg dieser Region. Auf halbem Weg befindet sich eine kleine Kirche. Der "Glockenturm" steht außerhalb und ist Teil der Ummauerung.

Near the village of Kapetaniana, a gravel road leads up to Kofinas, the highest mountain in this region. There is a small church halfway up. The "bell tower" stands outside and is part of the wall.

At 1,231 m, Kofinas is the highest mountain in the Asterousia Mountains on the south coast of Crete. The striking peak is photographed here in the evening sun from the village of Kapetaniana.

Einkaufsstraße, Kritis, Kreta, 2023

Kritis ist ein kleines Dorf in den Bergen westlich von Agios Nikolaos. Hier gibt es ein belebtes Zentrum und eine schöne Einkaufszone mit kleinen Geschäften.

Kritis is a small village in the mountains to the west of Agios Nikolaos. There is a lively center and a nice shopping area with small stores.

Kiesstrand, Elafonissi, Kreta, 2023

Diesen menschenleeren Kiesstrand fanden wir auf dem Rückweg von Elafonissi. Nach der völlig überlaufenen Touristenattraktion war das ein wohltuender Kontrast.

We found this deserted pebble beach on the way back from Elafonissi. After the completely overcrowded tourist attraction, it was a pleasant contrast.

Manassa Rose M, Kissamos, Kreta, 2023

Am 25. Januar 2022 geriet das Frachtschiff Manassa Rose M vor Kreta in einen Sturm und lief in der Bucht vor Kissamos auf Grund. Hohe Wellen ließen das Schiff in zwei Teile zerbrechen. Jetzt ist das Wrack eine weitere Attraktion an der Nordküste Kretas.

On January 25, 2022, the cargo ship Manassa Rose M got caught in a storm off Crete and ran aground in the bay off Kissamos. High waves caused the ship to break in two. Now the wreck is another attraction on the north coast of Crete.
