I shot a series of kite photos while waiting for my entry time for the Impressionism exhibit at the nearby de Young Museum. I'm happy we weren't able to get into the show immediately, that the sun was finally shining after many days of rain and gloom, and that there was a breeze.

Still trying to wrap my mind around this new, significantly wider 24mm equivalent lens.

Aerial view of Salesforce Park in San Francisco, California.

Salesforce Park is a 5.5 acre park 75 feet above ground, which sits atop Salesforce Transit Center, which is San Francisco's primary bus terminal and future rail terminal.

The park is an oasis of green in a very congested part of downtown San Francisco. It is high enough above street level to be noticeably quieter, and despite it being situated among many tall office buildings, a good amount of direct sunlight reaches the park, even during the winter months.

Aerial view of the Kaiser Roof Garden in Oakland, California.

The Kaiser Roof Garden, built in 1960, is a 3.5 acre garden which sits atop the 5-story parking garage at the Kaiser Center (Oakland's largest office building, which was recently sold and is being rebranded 300 Lakeside). It was the largest roof garden in the world at the time it was built. It has 42 mature trees, a reflecting pond, and undulating lawns.

In recent years it has had a free Friday afternoon concert series between June and September. Hopefully that will resume is a post-COVID world.
