For you metric cats, that's about 46 meters.

Aerial view of a sculpture by Mark Di Suvero at Crissy Field, San Francisco.

I estimated the length of the shadow using Photoshop's measurement ruler. Measuring the length of the shadow and the height of the person, I found the ratio of these measurements to be 27. Estimating the height of the person to be 5'9", this results in an estimate of the length of the shadow of 155 feet.

Unlike the first shot I posted of these sculptures, it's good to have some people in the frame to show their scale.

Designated in 1981 and part of NOAA, the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary spans 1,279-square-miles (966 square nautical miles) just north and west of San Francisco Bay, and protects open ocean, nearshore tidal flats, rocky intertidal areas, estuarine wetlands, subtidal reefs, and coastal beaches within its boundaries.

Early evening aerial view of the Oakland Estuary and the Port of Oakland, with the Bay Bridge and San Francisco Bay in the background. Shot from the Alameda side of the estuary, the end of the runway of the former Naval Air Station is visible on the left. The runway is currently used by Mythbusters and by Makani Power, a company recently acquired by Google, which specializes in generating electricity via airborne wind turbines.
