Aerial view of the Albany Bulb, a former construction debris landfill on San Francisco Bay that is now an interesting combination of recreation spot, wildlife refuge, public art gallery, homeless encampment, and much, much more. Among the many interesting features on the Bulb are a makeshift library and a good-sized labyrinth.
The length of the landmass seen here is about 1/2 mile.

Aerial view of Golden Gate Fields, a horse racing track on San Francisco Bay which straddles the cities of Berkeley and Albany, California.
This is the last remaining major horse racing venue in Northern California.
Another early outing with my new Sigma 30mm (45mm equivalent) lens. Such a huge difference from my usual 24mm or 28mm equivalent lenses. It seems extremely sharp, and comes in very handy when I can't easily get closer to my subject.
The difference between the two focal lengths can be seen when comparing this image to the one below, which was taken from approximately the same distance from the horse track.

Aerial view of San Francisco Bay mud flats, with a creek visible at low tide.
Be sure to find the birds in the frame, both white and black. This is a favorite local bird watching location.
Marin Creek, Village Creek, and Cordonices Creek all flow into the bay right around here. I can't tell for sure, but they may all be diverted to become one in this location.
