Sea Ranch is a peaceful and beautiful seaside community stretching for 10 miles along the rugged Sonoma County coast in Northern California.

My family and I were invited by some good friends to spend a couple of days here this past weekend. We got perfect weather and had a great time.

The beautiful cove seen in this photograph was filled with seals cavorting in the surf.

Taken by a camera lofted by a kite.

Beautiful Grace Cathedral sits atop swanky Nob Hill in San Francisco.

The Episcopal cathedral, designed in the French Gothic style, is a prominent center for art and music, and a favorite San Francisco travel destination.

The cathedral was built on land donated by the Crocker family, the railroad/banking magnates whose mansions on the site had been destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. Construction began in 1928 and continued through 1964.

Thanks to Alan Grinberg for his company and assistance with the balloon-cam.

Backlit aerial view of the Transamerica Pyramid and many of San Francisco's taller buildings.

I was flying my helium balloon-cam from Chinatown's Portsmouth Square Park, just a block from the Transamerica Pyramid. For some reason I thought that the building, San Francisco's tallest, was in the 550 to 650 foot range. Looking it up, I now find that it's 850 feet tall. Impressive!

The Bay Bridge and San Francisco Bay are seen in the upper left of the photograph.

Thanks to Alan Grinberg for his company and assistance with the balloon-cam.
