This is the only skipper species I’ve seen in my garden so far this year.

I found this tiny insect on a basil leaf. It's an Agapostemon (sweat bee), but that's as far as I can ID it. Any additional info would be appreciated.
EDIT: I was wrong. According to a helpful person on Facebook, this is a Long-legged fly, Genus Condylostylus.

Six days ago this tree, in a big box parking lot, was in its autumn resplendent glory, against a brilliantly blue sky. Now most maples have lost half or all their leaves. It’s been one of the most colorful falls here in metro Atlanta.

I hope to catch up with you all later. Thanks for dropping by.
I wasn't going to post today, but then came the doe...
All these shots were taken with my S5, handheld at 12x, at 1/15 of a second! Here's the story: As I leave my home office, I step down into my living room. On the right is an upright piano (no longer played, but that's another story), and on the lid covering the keyboard I now keep my cameras and binoculars. Well, I entered the living room and looked out the back door and saw a doe at the feeder. Startled to see the lovely creature at midday, I grabbed the S5, turned it on, went to 12x and without checking any settings, took just three shots. This primary shot, with her looking right at me through the dining room screened window, is the last one I took, just before she trotted away.
As beautiful as these animals are, I am not happy that they are back in my garden, because they can really do a number on garden plants and, more seriously, they are vectors for Lyme disease via the tick they carry. Here is some information about Lyme disease and deer ticks.
I hope all my American friends are enjoying this Fourth of July.
