One of the best storms I've ever seen in Arizona near Elgin on August 15th, 2020

Not often that the first stop on a chase ends up yielding my favorite photo of the day, but out by Bouse yesterday, at 9:40am…which is crazy early, I got in front of this outflow dominant supercell and a bolt landed only a mile away. Stunning sight for Arizona!

Wont soon forget standing in front of this supercell near Denver City, TX on May 4th. My absolute favorite moment chasing this year. Seeing this sculpted beast was like something out of a dream. I stood here as long as I could as the hail started to fall around me, hoping to get a photo before I had to run. Thanks to one of the camera crew who were following me for hitting the shutter button!

Took a long drive to bust on sunset lightning in far southern AZ, so of course on the way back bolts pop up east of Florence to help keep the day from being a total waste. Fun to watch this storm from afar, definitely helped make the drive home easier. Stopped east of Casa Grande to shoot a bit, then ended up in southeast Chandler as the storm started to die out. Nice surprise! This is a stack of two consecutive shots.

A bolt lands just a few miles away from my position near Vekol Valley on August 28th. Was a second one to the right that was sadly mostly off-camera, hence a nice vertical crop for this one! Thankful for this night as missing the past few days has been rough...I knew where I shoulda been yesterday, but went against my gut stupidly. Bumming today about it but that's how storm chasing is...ups and downs. Hopefully some good storm days coming up!
