Here is a rarely seen view of Zion National Park.
No, actually, there were about 40 photographers all lined up shoulder to shoulder shooting this sunset. This was from last Friday, that magical day of shooting in Zion. The morning started up rainy and crappy, then in came the low storm clouds that swirled around the park all day. It finally ended with THIS! Spectacular sunset.
I was there with Chaybert and Rob. They had been there the night before, when the sky was gray and the light was flat. I hadn't arrived yet. The two of them were alone on this bridge, hoping for a sunset. Chaybert cracks me up! While the three of us were shooting this, along with 37 other people, he yells out... "Where were all you people last night, when it SUCKED!?"

What more can I say? It's a sunset, in Kona. The nice thing about being a photographer on an island is you can catch the sunrise over the ocean, then drive around and get the sunset over the ocean the same day.

Well, it's day three on my Florida trip. I flew in a couple days ago. My step-sister is getting married on Saturday, so I'm here for the wedding. It's been great seeing my Dad, and family for the first time in a year and a half. My friend Jill is down here too. I'm visiting with her right now in her new motorhome. I have her tied up and stuffed into my trunk, so I have the place to myself. It's GREAT!
Yesterday was fun. Great seeing my Dad after so long. We took a nice boat ride through Crystal River, and saw a bunch of Manatee's (gigantic swimming turds), then went out into the Gulf Of Mexico where we saw lots of beautiful aqua blue water, I love the color of that water! Lots of Pelicans and Dolphins out there. It was nice.
I've been spending the last three hours trying to photoshop and post this. Last week I gave in and bought a piece of crap PC laptop. I rarely ever need a laptop, so I couldn't justify buying something expensive. I can't believe you can buy a laptop for $400 now. I've been using a Mac every day for the last 15 years, so it's like pulling teeth trying to get anything to work on this thing. Tonight confirmed my beliefs that PC stands for Piece of Crap. All hail Microsoft!
Oh yeah... This was tonight's sunset in Sarasota.

This is sunset from right behind the Bright Angel Lodge, Grand Canyon, south rim. It was a nice, but extremely short lived sky. This was just a few minutes after sunset. I was hoping to get a dusk shot. Usually the nicest sky and light in the Grand Canyon is about 30 minutes after sunset. This night, the sky turned nice for about two minutes, right after sunset, then turned to crap! All the color went gray.
