As I slowly make my way across the country, I am trying to take all that remains of old Rt 66. Most people don't realize how little remains of this famous historic road. Every time I drive on I-40 or I-44 I study a map and write down every exit that leads to old Rt-66. Any time Rt-66 makes an appearance, I take that instead of 40. I want to see if there are any hidden treasures left on 66 that I haven’t seen yet. Such a shame that they didn’t leave more of old 66 intact so you could still drive it and stay on it. In many places. it is very difficult to tell if I am actually on 66 or not. Really annoying that in a lot of places, it is not even labeled as 66, but as Business-40. Don’t know why they wanted to try and erase this important piece of history.

Yes. I am in St Louis now. Not in the motorhome. I had to fly here for a few days because the company desperately needed some new photos of the place. As much as I don't really like cities, I have to say, St Louis is a great city to shoot. It has some fantastic city parks. Great architecture. Amazing churches, and the area around the arch is really nice.

From here, I fly to New Jersey for a few days to visit my Mom, and some old friends. This will be the first time I've seen my old home after Hurricane Sandy.

This was taken at dusk last night.

This is one of the many bridges that cross over the San Antonio Riverwalk. I liked all the converging lines in this shot. I finally made it down to see the famous Riverwalk a couple days ago, then I attempted to go back yesterday, but ended up bailing out and turning around. I can see why it is so famous. It really is absolutely beautiful. It's a little river, sunken down, about 20 feet below street level. It's surrounded by beautiful old brick and stonework, and really nice gardens. I haven't been able to get any decent photos down there yet. With the holiday weekend, it has been absolutely packed!

This is a series I shot last summer of the bombing memorial in Oklahoma City. This is the site where the federal building was bombed in 1995. It is very nicely done, with a beautiful reflecting pool. Some pieces of the buildings original foundation still remain in the park.

Alright… I'm getting tired of posting city skylines and swamps. It's been a pretty disappointing couple of months for photography. I decided that I was going to actually post something really fantastic today. But… Then I changed my mind, and posted this. It's Jackson Square, in New Orleans at dusk.
