Here's another from my last morning in Port Aransas last week. It was one of the most fantastic sunrises ever. Two minutes later, a storm rolled in, and the sky turned to crap, and stayed that way for several days. I shot this with my new toy. A couple weeks ago I bought the new Canon 16-35 f2.8. I can't believe how sharp this lens is.

BTW... No Photoshop here. A big wave just came in, and washed back out. The foreground is all wet sand.

I've never tried this before. I hope it works. I had to change my drop shadow thingie to make it work. Let me know if it works right. Here it is. A view on black.

Well, our cold spell broke this afternoon. It got up in the 50's, and in rolled the fog. I love fog. I couldn't really find many things to shoot in it though. I love shooting trees in the fog, but there's not too many trees around here. I wandered around this big marina trying to find something interesting to shoot in the fog.

It's hard to read, but in the background is a fishing boat called "The Pelican"

I loved this guy's bright yellow head. Some have white heads, some have brown, and some are yellow. A couple years ago, I was in this bird sanctuary in the Florida Keys, and a park ranger was explaining what the colors of the heads mean. I can't remember now. It was something like yellow headed ones are looking to mate, white heads are not. I remember a guy standing there said, "Man, they need to come up with a system like that in the bars around here."

I haven't had much time to post anything on flickr this week. I have been working frantically trying to get the motorhome ready to get the Hell out of here. It's supposed to get up to 107 degrees this afternoon. I'm outa' here! I've also been working on Photoshopping dozens of boring photos that my company needs for postcards and such. I've already worked on all my photos that are actually worth looking at. These are all the mundane photos of skylines, cityscapes, a bunch more crap from San Antonio, etc. etc. Nothing that has really been worth posting on flickr. I thought this one was mildly interesting though. Cool colors in the sky. This is the Houston skyline.

Here's a few more from the infamous, Cadillac Ranch, in Amarillo, Texas.

Why are the titles under the photo? It looks stupid that way.

Well, this was a fun place to shoot. The Thanksgiving Square, in Dallas. Thanks to my friend Susan. She showed me some photos of this place, and I thought, 'that's really cool. I'd love to shoot that at dusk' ...So, I did. It was interesting! Now... I'm not a racist, but... When I'm the only white person within sight, and I'm carrying a camera bag and tripod worth thousands of dollars, I feel, well... Uncomfortable. When people keep coming up to me, and asking me for money. I feel... Even more uncomfortable. I normally never give beggars money, but I actually would have, just to make them happy, but all I had in my wallet was one $20 bill... Now, I'm not going to give them a $20... I don't want to tell them that I have a $20. Because, then they'd know that I had a $20. I certainly don't want to ask them, "Well, can you break a $20?" So, I just did the obvious, and acted dumb, and said I had no money, and hoped that they wouldn't realize that I may have no money, but I have thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment! I was really glad to make it back to my truck. And... If anyone is looking to buy some good Crack. Go to Thanksgiving Square, in Dallas.
