Yes. This is the 48th state that I have visited. As huge as it is, somehow, I have never been to Texas before. So, after this weeks little excursion to Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, and Louisiana last week, it's 48 down. 2 to go! All my life, I've wanted to be able to say I've been to all 50 states. So, which 2 are missing? No... It's not Alaska and Hawaii. Been there. In fact, if you want to see some great photos... forget the crap I've been uploading recently, check out my Alaska, and Hawaii sets. A trained monkey could get a great photo in Hawaii. It's impossible to take a bad photo in Hawaii. Anyway... It's North Dakota, and Nebraska. Guess I've got a LOT to look forward to.

I went many miles out of my path to take a route that brought me through Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky. I am on a mission to see every national park in the country. Upon excitingly arriving at the visitor center I found out that there are no tripods or camera bags allowed in the caves. Actually, no bag of any kind, not even a pocket book, (no, I don't carry one) or a plastic bottle of water for that matter. After talking to the useless idiots at the counter for a while, I worked my way up to the chief moron, who politely told me to go F#ยข& myself! Taking professional quality photos in a dark cave without a tripod is basically like telling a professional painter that you are welcome to paint anything you see here, but you can't use any brushes... OR PAINT! So... Anyway... This is Crystal Onyx Cave. A few miles up the road. The friendly park rangers at Mammoth Cave can go shove a stalagmite up their.............................

This is a blend of 4 different exposures, combined in Photoshop. Three bracketed available light shots, One with flashes (1 on camera, 1 handheld) I hesitate to call it HDR, because I didn't just press the magical HDR button and let Photoshop do it. I actually came up with this tecnique a few years ago, before I even knew HDR had a name. I just drag the different exposures onto one picture in Photoshop, creating multiple layers. I then hand pick bits and pieces of the best parts of each layer to combine.

Another one from Caney Creek Falls. Thank you BamaWester for showing me this place. Northern Alabama has been a lot prettier and nicer than I expected. The people are nice. They even have electricity and indoor plumbing now in most areas.

Visited the Upper Caney Creek Falls with my friend Mr. Bama.

I never would have found this magnificent place in a million years without him. It's in the middle of nowhere! Actually... It was about 27 miles past the middle of nowhere. We had to drive through Nowhere to get there.
