I must have shot about a hundred photos of this palm tree last summer. Cool tree!

It was only a few hundred feet from my campsite on Bahia Honda State Park, in the Florida Keys, so it was very convenient. That was such an awesome campsite.

This isn't new... I Just changed the date on this one. (Oh no... I'm a re-poster)

Just wanted to wish a happy Veterans Day to all the brave men and women who serve this country.

I remember all the years I worked as a photojournalist, shooting photos for a newspaper. I was always expected to be in about 11 different towns at exactly 11:11 on 11/11 to shoot their Veterans Day ceremony. The boss was always pissed at me that somehow I missed like, 9 of them.

This is the original description from 2 1/2 years ago.

I saw this huge flag this morning and loved the way the sun was hitting it. This was right across the street from whatever the hell town this is that I'm staying in. I can't even remember. There are so many dumpy, ugly little towns in inland Florida. They all have nice names that make them sound so appealing. They should come up with names that are more descriptive of the town itself. "Hello, I'm vacationing in Buttcrack, Florida. It's warm and sunny here."

This guy was in a huge botanical garden in Miami, Florida. He was huge, probably over 5 feet long and not very friendly at all. I was standing about 10 feet away, and he didn't like me very much!

Here is another from the historic Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas National Park. This is inside one of the many incredible hallways.

It is so amazing that they could have built this place 170 years ago, on an island 70 miles from any civilization Well... At that time there were no bridges fastening the keys to the mainland, so it was probably more like 200 miles from civilization. They had to transport all those bricks all the way out there. Amazing that they could lay these bricks so perfectly straight and symmetrical without the aid of any power tools or computer programs.

Even more amazing that 170 years later, after being pounded by countless hurricanes, that is could still look this perfect, level, and well preserved today. You would think that the weight of all those bricks would have sunk into the soft sand by now and the place would crumble.
