I went many miles out of my path to take a route that brought me through Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky. I am on a mission to see every national park in the country. Upon excitingly arriving at the visitor center I found out that there are no tripods or camera bags allowed in the caves. Actually, no bag of any kind, not even a pocket book, (no, I don't carry one) or a plastic bottle of water for that matter. After talking to the useless idiots at the counter for a while, I worked my way up to the chief moron, who politely told me to go F#ยข& myself! Taking professional quality photos in a dark cave without a tripod is basically like telling a professional painter that you are welcome to paint anything you see here, but you can't use any brushes...
