Well ...I finally found a nice campground. This is Lake Manattee State Park. Florida is home to some of the worst campgrounds I've ever seen. If I'm paying money to stay in a campground, I want to see some trees. Most of the campgrounds down here are called an "RV Park" The defenition of an RV Park, is a parking lot! No trees. There's an RV 10 feet to your left. There's an RV 10 feet to your right. And you're paying 30 bucks a night for THAT! If I want to be in a parking lot with no trees, I can stay in the Walmart parking lot for free! Just walking around the campgrounds in Florida, some of the trailers are just so depressing. You can tell that they haven't moved in 30 years. It starts with putting lattice work around the base. That's phase one. I guess you're not supposed to realize it's not a real house if you can't see the wheels. Then the screened porch gets attached. Some of the creations in these campgrounds are just so bizarre. Sometimes it is impossible to tell what these things even started out as. You have what is basically a two story house with 3 bedrooms, a porch, and an attached car port, built entirely out of plywood and scraps of rusty sheet metal. If you look closely, you see a pair of headlights and a radiator grille sticking out one side of it!
