Here's one from this morning at the balloon festival. Unfortunately this morning sucked for shooting the festival. It was the second morning for the funky shape rodeo, I was really looking forward to it. Problem #1 is the same problem I have every day here. I wish that they didn't start launching them at 7:00 AM. The sun rises pretty late this time of year, and to make it worse... Much worse, there are big mountains to the east of here. The sun doesn't come up over the top of those mountains until 7:30, which means that the entire balloon field is completely in shadow until 7:30. So, basically, everything I shoot before that is complete crap! It's OK on the mass ascension days. There are so many balloons that they keep launching until 9:00. Unfortunately today, they were pretty much done launching at 7:29. Problem #2... Normally the wind blows predominantly south here. Today there was a strong, strange wind blowing kind of East, West, North! So by the time I had any damn sunlight they had all totally scattered in every different direction except where I was standing, which was of course south! So I got absolutely no photos of the funky shapes.
