This was the start of our backpacking loop trip in RMNP. The first mile of our loop is actually on a private citizens property. The road leading to their house that is on the left is also the trail we hiked on.

A few miles into the loop that Allison and I did we arrived at Cascade Falls. It is a nice stop to break for a snack or lunch. The trail to the falls and the falls themselves are populated with day hikers. There is an air of excitement and a wonderful stop to break.

The trail between the Falls and our first camp site is mostly dusty through live and dead pine trees. Periodically you cross along a source of water like this.
