UPDATE: 10.2.2014 - I am very proud to say that this image is being used in a video by and for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights!

Original text:

The Parent Athletic Association for our school sponsored, for the first time, a wheelchair exhibition game between our 6th Grader Players and our Teachers against the LWSRA Rolling Falcons. The game was on this past Tuesday at our school. All proceeds went to the LWSRA Wheelchair Basketball program.

The Lincolnway Special Recreation Association's mission is to provide recreation and leisure services for individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities while promoting greater disability awareness in the community. Their website: LWSRA

I was at the game and cheered all of them on. It was a great opportunity for our kids to support our community and broaden their awareness. During the day, the program worked with the teachers to give the students exposure in different ways on what it was like to live with different disabilities. The game was a ton of fun. During pre-game, we had a chance to watch the Rollers warm up and interact with each other. You were immediately impressed and touched by them, by their ability and how much they care for each other. It was really awesome. And then, they totally kicked our butts. You can see that, at the start of the second quarter they were already winning 22-0. They pressed the first minute of the game and immediately went up 10-0. They did show generous sportsmanship at that point and fell back on defense to let us get the ball up the court and give us a chance. But to no avail. They were simply that much better than us. Inspiring and impressive, it was an incredible experience and a fantastic organization.

Terrific Thursday to you.

Update 3.16.2013: Published as Storm Clouds Over Lake Michigan in:

Lincoln Park 2550: The Evolution of a Chicago Landmark
Eric Levin, author, Lake Tower Development
December 2012

Historical survey of urban site once occupied by the Lincoln Park Sanitarium and subsequent Columbus Hospital. The book is a pictorial essay that documents the developmnent of Lincoln Park 2550, a condominium project in the Lincoln park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

Original description:
The storm of the day was incomplete and had a gap in the cloud cover. The resultant beams of light highlighted the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue downtown. A few minutes later, the beams migrated out over Lake Michigan as shown below.

My time in this building will be coming to an end soon and I, too, will migrate to another location. Working on a project with such elevation and sight lines has been an incredible experience. It has given me a new perspective on weather, at the least, to be able to watch storms develop and progress.

Have a Fantastic Friday everyone and stroll right into a great weekend!
