INCA JAY Cyanocorax yncas. An Inca Jay is seen very close near Papallacta on the eastern slope of the Andes in northern Ecuador at 10:55 AM on February 24, 2024.

The Inca Jay belongs to the family Corvidae and is found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Perú and Bolivia. Some regard the Inca Jay as being conspecific with the Green Jay.

ANDEAN GULL Chroicocephalus serranus. Two Andean Gull Chicks are seen with one parent on a tiny island in the shallow waters of the Limpiopungo Lagoon a little to the north of the volcanic cone of Volcán Cotopaxi in northern Ecuador at 12:11 PM on February 25, 2024 at an elevation of 3,800 meters (6,116 feet).

The Andean Gull belongs to the family Laridae and is distributed in the high Andes from Ecuador south to northern Argentina and central Chile. The scientific name of this high altitude gull was formerly Larus serranus.

Dos polluelos de Gaviota Andina Chroicocephalus serranus se ven con uno de los padres en una isla diminuta en las aguas someras de la Laguna Limpiopungo un poco al norte del cono de Volcán Cotopaxi el el norte de Ecuador a las 12 y 11 de la tarde el 25 de febrero de 2024 a una altura de 3,800 metros.

FRASER'S ANOLE Anolis fraseri. This Fraser's Anole has caught a large black beetle in an ornamental plant in Mindo in northwestern Ecuador at 4:22 PM on May 25, 2015. The Fraser's Anole eventually swallowed the beetle.

Fraser's Anole is a lizard found in the western Andes of Colombia and Ecuador.

FRASER'S ANOLE Anolis fraseri. This Fraser's Anole is sitting on a wire above the Vía Cunuco about 1/2 mile north of Mindo in northwestern Ecuador at 10:02 AM on February 17, 2024.

Note the prominent crest on the back.

Fraser's Anole is a lizard found in the western Andes of Colombia and Ecuador.
