Architect David Rich AIA designed the Modernist style house for legendary pro basketball superstar Wilt Chamberlin in 1972. The 5-bedroom.8-bath home in 9,395 sf is currently (September 2022) listed for sale for $11,995,000 and described in part as "Utmost privacy hidden behind two massive gates, the Wilt Chamberlin House sits on a secluded 2.5-acre cul-de-sac hilltop that boasts sweeping ocean, city, reservoir and valley views. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's organic style and the natural beauty of California, the five-story living room harmoniously blends a cathedral ceiling, walls of windows, tree-like columns and Bouquet Canyon stone. The brutalist design is offset by ample glazing that brightens and softens the interior. Extensive renovations from 2008 to 2013 reinvigorated this masterpiece with all the coveted modern amenities, including a media room, billiard room, gym, redwood sauna, outdoor kitchen, and an enormous swimming pool wraps the house creating an impression that it is floating in a lake."
The house is located at 15216 Antelo Place in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
