Architect W. Sidney Orme designed the Colonial Revival style house for Syrian immigrant Roger G. Sawaya in 1948. Sawaya was born in Duma, Syria on August 15, 1895 and immigrated to the United States in 1923. In Los Angeles he was a grocery merchant. He died in Los Angeles in April 1972.
