Architects Gable & Wyant remodeled the c.1925 Colonial Revival style house for advertising executive-restaurateur and member of the Van de Kamp bakery family Walter Van de Kamp in 1950. Mr. Van de Kamp was the founder-owner of the California Advertising Agency in Hollywood and co-founder with Lawrence Frank of Lawry's Foods and the Lawry's restaurant chain.
