Architects Conrad Buff and Donald Hensman designed the Modernist style house for Harry C. Dorsey in 1981. The 4-bedroom, 2-bath home in 2856 sq. ft. most recently (November 2020) for just over $2M, and was described in the listing as "Recipient of an AIA Award in 1984, the Dorsey House is located in the coveted lagoon section of Playa del Rey. An architectural tour de force, the house is the culmination of a design ethos that uses modernist proportions to maximize access to light, air and views. The foyer leads to a dramatic three-story atrium, open to a spacious office and media room with fireplace. The en-suite master enjoys views to the lagoon and a fireplace flanked by built-in oak storage. Directly above, the living room is the centerpiece of the home, brightly lit by the atrium skylights and eye-level views of the lagoon and ocean."
