Architect Don Uhl designed the Mediterranean Revival style house for Frank and Victoria Sproul in 1930. Sproul was born in Alameda, California on November 1, 1876. He married Victoria C. Weis on April 20, 1904. In Los Angeles he was an attorney He died in Los Angeles on December 16, 1948.

Architect Dan Uhl designed the Mediterranean Revival Style house for Frank and Victoria Sproul in 1930. Frank Sproul was born in California on November 1, 1876 He was an attorney at law. He lived in the house with his wife Victoria and their son, Frank Jr. He died in Los Angeles on December 16, 1948 and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California.

Architect Don Uhl designed the Mediterranean Revival style house for bulding contractor Victor Marks (Marks & Gage) as a speculative venture in 1928. Moviegoers will be familiar with the facade as the home featured in the movie, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?; the 1962 thriller starring Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, about an aging actress who holds her paraplegic sister captive in an old Hollywood mansion.
