The 15-home Bel Vista Tract was one of the earliest mass-produced housing projects in Palm Springs that embraced the Modernist aesthetic. Albert Frey, working alongside partner John Porter Clark, had a keen interest in designing affordable housing, a passion that began while working with architect Le Corbusier in Europe.

Architect William Krisel worked with contractor George Alexander in developing the Enchanted Homes tract, located in the former Sunmor Estates. It included three phases of development between late 1957 and early 1958. To create variety, the homes offered a choice of roof designs (flat, shed, butterfly and low-pitch gable) as well as a variety of facade treatments including stone and concrete block

Architects Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison designed approximately 70 homes in the El Rancho Vista subdivision of Palm Springs between 1959 and 1961. The homes were built by Roy Fey, an accountant from Chicago who moved to the desert and developed a contracting and real estate empire. The 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in 1667 sq. ft. is currently (March 2019) on the market listed for sale for $639,000 and described in the listing as " A Wexler Wonderland with an incredible back yard and an engaging style inside. This expanded Wexler Bermuda plan at the end of Paseo Barbara offers mountain views from its expansive back yard that includes a classic rectangular pebbletec pool, spa, seating areas, a fire pit, a huge outdoor island, and dinning deck with retractable shades.

Inside there's a comfy living room with windows to the views, a nicely appointed kitchen, which includes a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator and quartz counter tops open to a dining room. It's 3 bedrooms all open to the outdoor rooms of back yard, and it has a big bonus room for kids of all ages. The house features a foam roof, copper plumbing, a Puron AC, and built-in sound system.

This bohemian chic home has been a sought-after vacation rental because of its many charms and neighbors on only one side! The house is adjacent to the instagramable gateway sign, and pocket park with Bocci ball courts!"
