Venezuelan architect Alejandro Chataing designed the Neoclassical style Palacio Municipal de Caracas, or Consejo Municipal de Caracas in 1906. The palacio is the City Hall of Caracas, Venezuela, located on the corner of Gradillas a Monjas opposite the Plaza Bolívar. The building dates from the seventeenth century ; it was the focal point for the Constitutional Convention, and signing of the Declaration of Independence in the nineteenth century (declared on 5 July 1811 and hence known as the "cradle of independence").

The west wing of the building, the Capilla de Santa Rosa de Lima (Santa Rosa chapel), the chapel where Venezuela's independence was declared in 1811, has been fully restored and furnished with authentic period pieces. The ground floor houses the Museo Caracas (Caracas Museum), which contains works by Venezuela's most celebrated painters and many other historic artifacts.

Designated a Venezuela National Historic Landmark on 16 February 1979. Located at Av Sur 2, Caracas 1012, Distrito Capital, Venezuela.

Museu da Inconfidência or Museum of the Inconfidência is a history museum dedicated to those who died in a failed rebellion movement Inconfidência Mineira for Brazilian independence from Portugal. Brazilian President Getúlio Vargas decided that those who died in Inconfidência Mineira were martyrs and their remains were brought back from Africa where they had been buried or exiled by the Colonial Portuguese rulers. The museum was built as a tribute to their memory, and a Pantheon was built to house the remains of the rebels in 1942. Located at Barra Funda, São Paulo, Brazil

The Kalasasaya is a Pre-Columbian temple that is part of Tiwanaku, an ancient archeological complex in the Andes of western Bolivia. Although the temple is more than 2000 years old, its monumental style is reminiscent of the work of Modernist architect Louis Kahn.

The Convent of Santa Teresa was built by Antonio Gomez do Desterro in 1629. The convent is located on top of the Santa Teresa hill and presents a magnificent view of the city. It is one of the few neighborhoods to resist development in order to retain its colonial charm. It is famous for its winding, narrow streets. The church can only be visited during mass. It is located adjacent to the New Tunnel shown here.
