Architect T.R. Griffth designed the A.K. Smiley Public Library in a Mission Revival style in 1898 (local observers refer to the style as "Moorish"). The edifice features contrasting red brick with sandstone trimming, carvings, fanciful griffons and cherubs, and an interior rich with arches and cozy conservation corners with fireplaces.

John P. Fisk, an early Redlands realtor and insurance agent, had the Queen Anne Victorian style house built for him by D.M. Donald in 1890. The house is constructed in redwood and features an ornate millwork and a widow's walk on the top. The house and adjoining citrus grove were listed in the National Register of Historic Resources in 2004.
