Architect Harwell Hamilton Harris, with inspiration from the organic architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the redwood and glass house for Cecil J. Birtcher in 1942. Birtcher was founder of the Birtcher Corporation, a firm based in nearby El Sereno that specialized in medical-electric devices. The house has been restored and modernized by its current owner architect Roberrt D. Mabe. The house was a highlight of the 2016 MAK Center for Art & Architecture Home Tour on October 2, 2016.
The Birtcher-Share House was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 612) in 1994. Located at 4234 Sea View Lane in the Mt. Washington neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Unfortunately there were too many people visiting the house during the home tour making it difficult to take photos of some of the rooms as well as the swimming pool area.
