In April 1998 I went on a Roman holiday with a group of friends. Our days we were lodged at the fabulous Hotel Excelsior on the beautiful Via Vittorio Veneto beginning on Saturday, April 4, 1998. The next evening we had dinner at the French Academy located in the Villa de Medici. The following day which was Monday, we took a day trip to the Villa d'Este, a 16th Century Villa in Tivoli on the outskirts of Rome with lunch at the Palazzo Brancaccio. The following days we took tours of the Galleria Borghese and other sites around Rome. including the Coliseum, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain. Our final evening in Rome was an elegant evening at the opulent Villa Aldobrandini, a villa in Frascati, Italy, still lived in by the Aldbrandini family.
Afterwards, my traveling companion and I stayed on, visiting the Itlaian towns of Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi and Bologna before returning home to Los Angeles. These are some highlight photos of the trip.
