Situated high on the hill with expansive views of Silver Lake and to the west, the Spanish Colonial Revival style home was the residence of Aimee Semple McPherson (1890-1944), a colorful Pentecostal evangelist and Founder of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. On the advice of neighbors, I originally identified this home as a Paul Williams design, however in checking the building permits, I now realize my mistake. Nevertheless, I hope that everyone concerned will appreciate this lovely home that has the 'look' of a Paul Williams home of the period. The McPherson Residence is located at 1982 Micheltorena Street in the Moreno Highlands of Silver Lake, situated at the top of a gated, private drive and has magnificent sprawling lawns, mature landscaping and a pool with approximately 4,000 square feet of living space situated on over 16,000 sq. feet of grounds.

Architect John P. Pedersen designed the Mediteranean Revival style house for Louise P. Hill in 1930. The house is located at 184 South Hudson Avenue in Hancock Park, one of the most affluent and historic neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

It was developed by the Hancock family beginning in the 1920s from profits realized from drilling oil in the former Rancho La Brea.. The Mediterranean Revival style house is typical of the many beautiful homes lining its wide boulevards. Since 1996 it has been the residence of textile executive Sherry Lowy, a former nutritionist, and her husband Allan Lowy, a real estate developer.
