The Bolton/Culbertson House 1906-1929, by architects Charles and Henry Greene with addition by architect Garrett Van Pelt, is one of the great classics of the Arts and Crafts movement. Commissioned by Dr. William T. Bolton, the house represents a transitional stage between the Greene's less complex earlier Craftsman style and the grandiose "ultimate bungalows" that characterized their later work, such as the Gamble and R.R. Becker residences.

Before Dr. Bolton was able to move in, he suffered an untimely death; his widow sold it to the Culbertson sisters in 1917, who asked Henry Greene to design alterations and additions. The most significant alteration came in 1929, when a leaded-glass bay window was added to the main interior stairway, designed by Garrett Van Pelt.

A recent restoration by architect Tim Andersen has renewed the warmth and vigor of the residence. The six-bedroom, seven-bath home in 5,725 sq. ft. is currently (September 2014) on the market listed for sale for $2,845,000. UPDATE: The house is currently (December 2018) listed for sale for $4M.

The Boton-Culbertson House is located at 370 W. Del Mar Boulevard in Pasadena, California. The house was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
