Architectural designer William Kesling designed the Rivero Residence in his signature Streamline Moderne style in 1937. Described in Patrick Pascal's book, Kesling Modern Structures as a "small cottage with an enormous view, it was never enjoyed by its original clients due to tragedy."

Architectural designer William Kesling designed the Streamline Moderne style house for Harry Ulm in 1937. Ulm was born in Garfield County, Oklahoma on February 13, 1894. In Los Angeles he was employed as an Engineer by the Southern Pacific Railroad.
