A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Slosson founded the Slosson Oil Transportation Co. in Long Beach i 1931. After discharge from the U.S. Navy in ?World War I, he worked in the oil fields of Texas and Arkansas. In 1952 he drilled oil wells in Wilmington and Whittier. He also discovered oil in the Tejon Hills near Bakersfield, where an oil sand, the Slosson Oil Pool was named for him.
