Architects Conrad Buff III and Don Hensman designed the Modernist style house as a speculative venture with Marmack, Inc. in 1977. The house was sold to philanthropist and investor Kirk Kerkorian, one of the important figures in the shaping of Las Vegas and, with architect Martin Stern Jr., is described as the "father of the resort”.
