Building contractor Thomas C. Bowles designed the two-story apartment house in a Spanish Colonial Revival style for James Stokes in 1933. The property is located 1084-1086 South Ogden Avenue in the Wilshire Vista West Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.
