Architect Paul J. Duncan designed the Modernist style home for developer Spiros G. Ponty in 1952. Ponty was a Greek immigrant who built thousands of homes in Los Angeles and led efforts to provide long-term mortgages especially for returning war veterans. A restaurateur as a young man who later became an assistant business manager to film producer-director Cecil B. De Mille, Ponty began in the housing business as a real estate salesman. His projects ranged from simple to elegant, the 147 Spanish Colonial Revival style homes he built in the Carthay Circle neighborhood of Los Angeles are noteworthy. Located in the Cheviot Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
