Architect Hayden Whitely designed the Mediterranean Revival style house for osteopathic physician Daisy D. Hayden in 1917. The house is located at 438 South Serrano Avenue in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles, California and is part of the South Serrano Avenue Historic District, an historic district of early 20th Century homes along the 400 block of South Serrano Avenue, the only intact block of single-family homes in an area having many large apartment buildings. Seventeen houses on the single block are counted as contributing buildings, including several by leading architects of the day including Frank M. Tyler and Reginald D. Johnson. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
