Architect John Lautner originally designed the Modernist enclave as a holiday retreat for movie producer Lucien Hubbard in 1947. The property was rescued in a derelict state by interior designer Tracy Beckman and furniture designer Ryan Trowbridge in 2008 who have expanded the property over the years into a unique compound described as a "micro-resort—a hybrid between luxury rental and boutique hotel."
Donna and I had the occasion to visit the property during Palm Springs Modernism Week 2020 as guests of USModernist®.
