Architect Lloyd Wright designed the Modernist style house for film composer Alfred Newman and his wife actress Martha Montgomery in 1948. Nominated for an Academy Award 20 years in succession, from 1938 to 1957, Newman was one of the most influential forces in the language of music for the cinema.
