User / Michael Locke / Thom Mayne House, Morphosis 2017
Michael Locke / 45,568 items
Architect Thom Mayne, principal of Morphosis Architects designed the house for himself and his wife, Blythe Alison-Mayne in 2017. The house was Mayne's first domestic project in a quarter century, built on a site that used to be the home of late science fiction writer Ray Bradbury. Bradbury wrote many of his greatest works in the house. To pay homage to his life and spirit, the design of the gate incorporates his words in part: "Living at risk is jumping off a cliff and building your wings on the way down". The house was featured in Michael Mann's crime drama Heat.
