Architect Aloyisus F. Mantz designed the Mediterranean Revival style house for Milton Willner, a retail merchant in men's clothing in 1925. Willner was born in Dubuque, Iowa on November 3, 1874. He died on March 24, 1944 and is interred at Home of Peace Memorial Park in East Los Angeles.

The architect was born in Illinois in 1889. He began his architectural career as a draftsman in the office of Harrison Albright (1907, 226 North Hope Street) after which he was an apprentice in the office of Arthur B. Benton (1913). Between 1914 and 1918, he was the proprietor of the Hotel Jovita, located at 726 South Spring Street. Census records show that he worked for the Metro Pictures Corporation in 1921.

The Milton Willner House is located at 116 South Las Palmas in the historic Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Please do not use this image in any media without my permission. © All rights reserved.
