Architect Jules G. Koppel (1882-1952) designed the Italianate style house for Angelo and Bernice Pontrelli in 1936. Pontrelli was born in Italy on September 14, 1900, one of seven children of Angelo Michale and Caterina Pontrelli. The family immigrated to the United States on December 27, 1920. The younger Angelo found work in Los Angeles as a blacksmith and lived in the house with his wife and their two children, Catherine and Michael. He died on May 31, 1984.
The Pontrelli House is located at 4123 Tracy Street in the Franklin Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.
