Jack Carroll Lipman (d. 1998) partnered with Sidney Eisenshat between 1946 and 1962 under the firm name Existenz according to ArchINFORM. Lipman was a member of the American Institute of Architects from 1946 until his death on December 9, 1998. He was most active in Honolulu, HI, where the Honolulu Chapter of the AIA honors him annually with the Jack C. LIpman Members’ Choice Award. Sidney Eisenshtat (1914 –2005) was best known for his designs of synagogues and Jewish academic buildings. An Orthodox Jew, Eisenshat reportedly did not accept commissions on his synagogue projects.
