This little patch of the Sonoma coast never disappoints especially on days when the swell is high and the waves are active. Although it may not look big, this splash has to be 20+ feet in height. It’s mornings like these that make the early wake up and journey to get here so, so worth it.

When big rains arrive, I try to put myself in this general area at least once or twice to catch the freshly surging creeks. On this morning, the clouds were being greedy and hoarding the sun, but for about a minute they relented and shared some of the wealth resulting in some nice golden light.

Morning fog, hills, trees and golden light. These are some of my favorite things.

This water filled pocket is always a draw for me when I'm photographing this stretch of the Sonoma coast. I was fortunate to have some nice sunrise clouds in the sky to help complete the scene.

Big waves on the coast is always a treat. I’m guessing the wave crash in the background has to be 30+ feet high.
