This photo was very hard to get. I had 15 frames to stitch to put it together. Why you might ask?

1. Windy, I had to use f/8 and higher ISO to get the fg sharp. This required focus stacking later. With the moving, near fg this was a tough blending
2. Lense Flares -> used the magic hand technique for parts of the image
3. Bracketing for the sun at f/16

The result doesn't look like I nearly spent three hours for the post processing ;-) But when I get this printed big the detail work will pay off.

cheers

Short after sunset in Corsica with view of Golfe de Girolata. It was a wonderful evening and a good reward for the hours of driving through the winding corse roads that day. It's really no fun going up and down in serpentines for hours on those small roads. The views are a good compensation for this though :-)

In post I had to do some focus stacking of three different focused shots. I shot this at 25mm and f/9,5 and there was no way to get everything as sharp as I wanted with just one shot.

Many techniques I show in my Start2Finish Post Processing Tutorial were used in this shot. There's a long section about focus stacking in the tutorial for those interested.

Wonderful light at golfo di girolata, corsica. I went for a panorama here, stitched two horizontal shots to get more detail. I also needed bracketing since the light was so intense.

I still have to sort through the photos of this trip but there's a lot more to come :-)

cheers

End of a rainy day on Corsica. It was really pouring and most of the time we sat in the nice coffee bars in calvi waiting for the rain to stop. The whole time we waited, I had this photo in mind. Just a little less rain an I would grab my umbrella to get this scene after sunset. I was even more lucky, around sunset it completely stopped raining so I didn't even need the umbrella. The water was very calm after sunset and the grey clouds turned on a light blueish hue, which I emphasized a bit in Photoshop. You just have to love the blue hour when shooting cities. Be it a clear sky, a cloudy sky or even raining. Doesn't matter, you can always get a nice shot.

Used a lee 0.6 hard GND here to balance the exposure + a Polarizer to see a bit of the bottom. The foreground rocks were needed as sharp contrast to the blurry rocks below the surface of the water and also for the viewer to get into the scene. I also had a tele shot in mind but then it started to rain again and I didn't want to change lenses.

PS: for details about my postprocessing have a look at my start2finish tutorial -> store.payloadz.com/details/1343534-video-educational-star...

cheers

Winter holds his grip on germany. So it's time to remember warmer days as here in corsica. This is Galeria beach, which I showed you from the other side already. It's a pebble beach and the walk across it is really stearnous since you sinc in between the small pebbles. That's also why for sunset we stayed on the other side which has some equally beautiful views.

This photo I took during midday. It is told that this is the worst time to take landscape photos and mostly this is true. But put some clouds in the sky and some colorfull rocks into the foreground, the blue sea to the right and mountains in the background it's not too bad though ;-)

I used some exposure blending here to deal with dyn range and also the magic hand technique to remove flares. Shooting in the direction of the sun during midday isn't all to easy.

cheers
