HERE YOU CAN SEE INSIDE...
Santa Maria delle grazie ("Holy Mary of Grace") is a church and Dominican convent in Milan, northern Italy, included in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list. The church contains the fresco of The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, which is in the refectory of the convent.
.....
The design of the apse of the church has been attributed to Donato Bramante, who at the time was in the service of the Duchy; however, there is scant documentary evidence linking Bramante to this church. His name is inscribed in a piece of marble in the church vaults delivered in 1494. Some documents though mention the name Amadeo, likely Giovanni Antonio Amadeo. Similarities between this church and Amadeo's design for Santa Maria alla Fontana make this attribution more likely.

Looking at the facade of the church on the left you can find the door to the Cenacolo ( Leonardo's Last Supper)
The Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci (Cenacolo Vinciano) is one of the most famous paintings in the world. This artwork was painted between 1494 and 1498 under the government of Ludovico il Moro and represents the last "dinner" between Jesus and his disciples.

In order to create this unique work, Leonardo carried out an exhaustive research creating an infinity of preparatory sketches. Leonardo abandons the traditional method of fresco painting, painting the scene "dry" on the wall of the refectory. Traces of gold and silver foils have been found which testify to the artist's willingness to make the figures in a much more realistic manner, including precious details. After completion, his technique and environmental factor had contributed to the eventual deterioration of the fresco, which had undergone numerous restorations.

The most recent restoration was completed in 1999 where several scientific methods were used to restore the original colors as close as possible, and to eliminate traces of paint applied in previous attempts to restore the fresco.

.... imagine to be here...
where in Milan Medieval style meets the ancient Roman one....

The Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore is an important place of catholic worship located in Milan, within the ring of canals, originally built in Roman times and subsequently rebuilt several times over a number of centuries. Located close to the mediaeval Ticino gate, it is one of the oldest churches in Milan. It is near the city park called Basilicas Park, which includes both the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio, as well as the Roman Colonne di San Lorenzo.

*******❅☆❅*****ABOUT THE HISTORY*****❅☆❅*********
THE ROMANTIC STORY
Once upon a time, a young chocolatier named Luisa Spagnoli fell in love with Giovanni Buitoni, a founder of the Perugina chocolate company, and he with her. The only cloud in the match made in chocolate heaven? Luisa's husband was the other founder.
According to sweet legend, Luisa wrapped romantic notes around the chocolates that she sent to Giovanni for his inspection. Inspired by their secret love, she began to make her bite-sized chocolates as delectable as her messages: silky, dark-chocolate exterior enveloping gianduja, a whipped chocolate filling blended with finely-chopped hazelnuts, and all finished with a whole hazelnut crown.

Nearly 100 years later, Perugina continues the tradition of Luisa's Baci (Italian for "kisses"), love notes and all, in addition to an extensive selection of other high-quality chocolate confections. The company remains located just outside of Perugia, a hilltop town in central Italy, where the two star-cross'd lovers first met.

IMAGINE TO BE HERE....
the most modern part of the big city,
where everything is a mirror,
where each surface reflects the infinity of sky,
where you can walk surrounded by water,
where air, light and water have the capability to create a magic scenery around YOU,
where you can forget to be in the heart of a big city
feeling yourself in a futuristic dream,
while you can touch the sky with your fingers....
this is the modern side of Milan....
**********************************************
This area is the newest part of Milan and it is quite obvious when you get there, since it is sooo different from the other neighborhoods. There are two possible reactions: either you love it (the change of architectural style creates a sort of surprise effect) or you just hate it (undoubtedly, these sharp glass skyscrapers clash with the surrounding buildings).

The redevelopment of Porta Nuova in Milan, to which Piazza Gae Aulenti belongs is an urban intervention among the largest in Europe, certainly one of the most important theme in the transformation and upgrading of urban parts, a master plan that involves 20 architectural firms of eight different nationalities, a park of 150,000 square meters and the tallest tower of Italy.

All of this is happening, and it just happened in the heart of Milan – Upon exiting the station Garibaldi, where 3 subway lines converge and the high speed linking Milan in a few hours in Turin and Rome – in the vast urban portion of Porta Nuova. It was inaugurated in December 2012, and since that moment the square is growing up with new life and new events.

The project

A profusion of contemporary architecture in one of the focal points of the capital of Lombardy. Around this realization in fact you can still see the many other sites in neighborhoods Isola and Garibaldi (Cantieri di Porta Nuova – Archiobjects.com). Among these new buildings are present both residential buildings, and commercial buildings that together give life to a new Milan that only we can observe the work completed to evaluate.
