"Cold wind sphere"
by Olafur Eliasson (1967)
Danish artist Olafur Eliasson creates installations that explore natural phenomena and the mechanisms of perception through space, light and colors. Inspired by a model of the atmospheric system and by biomechanical forms.
This work consists od a traslucid sphere of blown grey glass enclosing three nested, spiral-wound layers that recall the structure of DNA, each made up of triangles of glass in different blues. A bulb at the centre produces a radiant and kaleidoscopic play of light that envelops the viewer.

Antonio Canova
(1 November 1757 – 13 October 1822) was an Italian sculptor from the Republic of Venice who became famous for his marble sculptures that delicately rendered nude flesh. The epitome of the neoclassical style, his work marked a return to classical refinement after the theatrical excesses of Baroque sculpture. Among Canova's English pupils were sculptors Sir Richard Westmacott and John Gibson.
