Longs Peak is the highest peak and only 14er in RMNP. To shot Milky Way over Longs Peak, I planned to use some stones around Bear Lake as foreground. When walking toward those stones, I surprisingly found out that part of the frozen lake was not covered by snow as usual. The patterns of ice cracks on that part of lake looked like constellations. They would be much better foreground than stones for nightscape. I took lots images from sunset to dawn. Here is one of them.
