I've posted this tree before, but in between shots, someone has provided a raison d'être for the tree: "A Place for Lost Soles". A tree for placing the many sad and discarded flip flops found on the beach.

Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday!
This is an Australian native Ironbark tree that for some reason people have decided looks good decorated with feathers gathered from the surrounding park area. The feathers I could identify were from Torresian Crows, Australian White Ibis, Little Corellas, Whistling Kite, Brahminy Kite, Rainbow Lorikeet, Australian Brushturkey and Sulphur-crested Cockatoo.
The Ironbark is a part of the Eucalyptus family of Australian trees, so named as it bark supposedly resembles iron slag. I thought it was because the bark is highly resistant to fire, protecting it from bushfires and allowing it to regrow branches from ‘buds’ under the bark. The tree doesn’t shed its bark, but instead it develops in layers, thus causing the rough texture and deep fissures.

Happy Bench Monday!
I struggle to understand the reasoning behind this style of graffiti in any location, but way out bush, along a fire trail???Why?
