Somewhere around the Castelo San Jorge - we didn't quite know where we were back then, and I couldn't figure it precisely on the map. Anyways... Taken with the 25mm f/1.8 green trim CCTV lens wide open.

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves and comments, they are always appreciated.

New escalators being installed in the Südbahnhof. Apparently these things cost 300k a piece (or maybe a set of two?). Must be the reason why they are not everywhere we'd appreciate them.

Green trim 25mm f/1.8 APS CCTV lens @ about f/2.8

The new wing of the Historisches Museum (historisches-museum-frankfurt.de) was officially opened last weekend, although a lot of it is not yet accessible to the public. In any case the architects in charge of the project did a pretty nice job integrating modern elements onto that venerable building.

This picture was made with a 25mm f/1.8 APS-C "Green Trim" CCTV lens, which looks very much like its 35mm sister flic.kr/p/LX2p2k . It arrived from China a few days ago - who would have imagined the wonders of eBay just 20 years ago? I didn't have time to play a lot with it, but the first impressions are definitely positive. Unlike the 25mm wannabee f/1.4, it appears to be a true f/1.8. It produces a soft - "dreamy" to the poetic hipsterian soul - glow around edges when wide open, but things gets much better by f/2 already, and it seems generally pretty sharp (please look elsewhere for more formal testing. To me, lenses are like wine, I like them or not, no matter the bottle). The aperture's 13 blades keep it round all the way down to f/16. It feels solid but not cheap, quite heavy and metallic actually. No reason not to expect it to serve for decades. The paint looks like the 35mm one's meaning it probably wears off like there is no tomorrow though. In any case, I wanted to get myself a nifty fifty for not too much money, I I feel I got quite a sweet deal there.

A colleague and myself were asked to provide some software training to our colleagues in Lisbon, and grabbed the opportunity to visit that beautiful city, which I had never seen before. That was quite a bit of random walk tourism, which took us through all kind of areas, from the pretty to the glorious to those that have seen better day. This picture was taken last night in an area I'd definitely put in the latter category. We had a great time, took lots of pictures and saw only a fraction of what there is to see.
